【日本樂散步】一隻香蕉 一杯白水

一隻香蕉一杯白水,是減肥餐?早餐?下午茶?都不是,而是日本某一位小朋友
除了學校供應午餐以外整天的食物。不能相信吧,這般富裕的日本,竟有孩子吃不飽,而且六個就有一個小朋友生活在貧窮線下。

給食(供應午餐)是日本政府在 1950 年開始的法列,規定幼稚園、中小學一定要供應午餐,由孩子的監護人支付少少費用,其他由政府補助,為讓發育中的孩子有一定的營養。因這制度,成長中的孩子們不論富貧,每天最少有一餐營養均衡的飲食。但晚餐及早餐呢?

貧富懸殊是世界性的情況,單親家庭增加引至孩子們的生活質素下降,日本也是一樣的。有錢的父母,可以帶孩子吃幾千元円的午餐;而單身的媽媽呢,連為孩子做個飯也要左算右算,因錢不夠用。為生活的家長要長時間工作,簡單的家庭少有三代同住,年幼的孩子要自己照顧自己,飯也沒一餐吃飽,或胡亂吃吃就算。

Chion 1在繁華東京的小角落,有個餓著肚子,因那天的晚餐又是只有香蕉和白水的孩子在睡覺。有個因父母工作繁忙,晚餐都是自己一人吃的女孩。又有個因媽媽要加班未回家,每晚都吃著冷冷便當的兄妹。經營孩子食堂的大嬸們心痛地告訴大家,這些不是故事而是現實。

看到這社會現象,有人就各自在自己的社區,自發經營起「子供食堂」(孩子餐廳),為附近的孩子們免費或以 100¥ 低廉地提供熱騰騰、營養滿點的可口晚餐。因義工們都是普羅大眾,資金有限,食堂大約每星期開設一至二晚,有些不但歡迎孩子,連單親父母或獨居老人都可以一齊來吃。多設在小餐廳、地域交流中心、商店街的某商舖或改裝民居等。住在附近熱心的家庭主婦或學生或居民在食堂中義務煮飯,同孩子們交流或協助功課。食物就由商店街的食材店以平宜價格或免費提供米菜肉魚,直接捐款的人也有。非常街坊,義工們也平易近人,給人親切無壓迫感的環境,每次都人滿滿,好味好味及笑聲不斷。子供食堂多不申請政府支援,因不想受益者的資格受限制及被調查,他們只想提供一個溫暖「落腳」(暫時休息)的地方,讓孤苦的孩子安樂地吃餐飽飯。

每週都來的 80 歲婆婆說,平日都是自己一個人吃飯,在食堂就好像同孫子們一齊,吵吵嚷嚷很開心。單親爸爸哭著說,剛離婚時都不知應給幼小的兒子吃什麼,幸好食堂的大媽們招待他俩父子,也幫助他們渡過最初的生活難關。現在這爸爸每週都駕車為食堂運米運菜。又有一個 16 歲的小義工曾經是食堂的受惠者,現在一有空就來幫手招呼小客人,同孩子打成一片。一頓愛心飯,添了孩子們的營養,也把互助的美事刻在小小的心板上,當他們有能力時又回報於別人身上。

大城市也住著成人世界的失意人,在工資永遠追不上高物價的世代中,辛勤的勞動者、初出社會的小白領、或遠道而來讀書的年輕人,有著金錢緊張的關頭,出糧前夕錢用完又未匯入,晚飯如何好?「未來食堂」年輕的經營者初來東京工作,就經歷過經濟困局,當時她身邊幾位不太熟的同事,一齊把自己的便當與她分享。因有過在惴惴不安中受惠的經歷,她深刻想為同樣在這城市中打拼、面臨困境的人做些事,最少供他們吃一頓熱飯,就開始了提供 0¥ 的餐食。

「未來食堂」門口的報告版上有著「ただめし券」(tadameshi ticket , tada = 零或不用代價 meshi = 飯或招待),是張張不同、寫下鼓勵或邀請吃飯的便利貼,這劵由在食堂中付上 50 分鐘勞動工作的義工們換來留給別人用的。人人都可以用這「你不用付代價飯劵」吃一餐免費的飯,有湯有配菜有主菜有白飯,非常美味。不好意思白食的人,可以自己在食堂幫手煮食 50 分鐘換一餐飯。支持食堂的普通人,就付 900¥ 吃一餐。菜單每天不同,但每天只有一種餐,沒有其他選擇。單一餐選的經營,減低成本,加快客人回轉率,所以提供 0¥ 餐的未來食堂沒有赤字。每人出一分小力,多多的善行也被成就了。

幫手洗碗的是某餐廳的中年社長,在切菜的是美女牙醫,還有住在東京近郊的中年太太,因擔心快做媽媽的經營者而每週來幫忙兩次。全都是義工,而且開始幫手時都是陌生人,都是在繁忙工作中的短休時間來做協助。食堂中很安靜,大家都專心吃飯、切菜或煮飯。經營者說她想提供一個不受打擾的食堂,所以她不會主動同客人談天。在這裡大家不用應酬別人,也不用告訴她為什麼需要「ただめし券」,好好吃一頓,緩一口氣,再回去努力。

食堂的能力小小,但實際的行動已不斷地為冷冷的社會添了愛,煮一鍋飯不只飽了人肚,也暖了人心,也大大改變了很多人的未來。聖經中有一句家傳戶曉的金句「施比受更為有福」(使徒行傳二十35),有能力去關愛是福份,多放眼去留心一下,身邊有沒有只有一隻香蕉一杯白水,需要關心、需要幫助的人們,盡力量送上一點點實際支持。小小愛的行動,力量可大了!
