親愛的恐懼

我稱呼你為 "親愛的"，只因為我們的老交情，絕不是因為我愛你。

事實上，這段關係自始至終都在折磨我，你用謊言欺騙我，使我失去夢想、逃避責任。

你實在是個令人愁煩、卑鄙的同伴，我不想再與你有任何瓜葛。我寫這封信告訴你，此刻起我不再害怕！就算感覺你的存在，我也不再聽命於你。

我有位好友名叫耶穌，祂應許永不撇下丟棄我，要永遠與我同在。祂大有能力，你雖然有些力量，但祂的權能遠超過你。

你可以再來敵擋我，但耶穌就在我裡面，那在我裡面的比你更有能力。你若不相信我，請讀〈約翰一書〉4章4 節。雖然你一向是不速之客，但醜話說在前面，我將無視你的存在。我忙著與耶穌建立親密關係，沒空理你。

我越認識耶穌就越勇敢，祂教導我新的生活方式，新生活令人興奮，充滿冒險—令我無所畏懼。我還要告訴你，根據我長年對你的認識，聽信你無疑是自找罪受。因此我要告訴所有人，你是個小偷和騙子。

A letter to FEAR

DEAR FEAR, I only refer to you as "dear" because of our long-term, intimate relationship, and certainly not because you are dear to me in any way.

In fact, you have been a tormenting influence from start to finish. You have told me lies and prevented me from doing the things I wanted to do and should have done.

You are indeed a miserable, wretched companion and one that I no longer am willing to be involved with. I am writing you this letter to let you know that from this point forward, I will not fear! Although I may feel your presence, I will not bow down to your demands.

I have a friend whose name is Jesus, and He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me, but to be with me always. He is indeed a powerful friend and although you do have some power, His is by far much greater than yours.

You can come against me, but Jesus lives in me, and the power of the one who is in me is greater than you are (see 1 John 4:4). Although I cannot prevent you from coming to visit, I do want to give you notice that you will be ignored. I am far too busy now fellowshipping with my friend Jesus and developing an intimate relationship with Him to give you any of my time.

The more time I spend with Jesus the more courageous I become. He is teaching me a new way to live, one that is exciting and adventurous—one that is fearless. I also want to inform you that since I have so much experience with you and know how self-defeating it is to listen to you, I now intend to tell as many people as I can what a thief and a liar you are.

The years I have wasted with you will be redeemed and I will bear much good fruit. Thank you for driving me to Jesus. You see, you made me so miserable that I sought a way to be free from you, and Jesus met me where I was and set me free. Should you decide to waste your time and try to visit me even after my letter, I am letting you know ahead of time that you will be met by faith in God and a determination that I WILL NOT FEAR!

謙卑 Humility

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD, and humility comes before honor. Proverbs 15:33

• 敬畏耶和華心存謙卑，就得富有、尊榮、生命為賞賜。箴言 22:4
Humility is the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life. Proverbs 22:4

• 凡事不可結黨，不可貪圖虛浮的榮耀；只要存心謙卑，各人看別人比自己強。腓立比書 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Philippians 2:3

驕傲 Pride

• 心中安靜是肉體的生命；嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。箴言 14:30
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. Proverbs 14:30

生氣 Anger

災難 Calamity

Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity. Proverbs 21:23

• 民要攻打民、國要攻打國、多處必有地震、饑荒．這都是災難的起頭。馬可福音 13:8
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. Mark 13:8

憂愁 Worry

• 你們不要憂愁、因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。尼希米記 8:10
Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

• 主雖使人憂愁, 還要照他諸般的慈愛發憐憫。耶利米哀歌 3:32
Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. Lamentations 3:32

• 凡勞苦擔重擔的人，可以到我這裡來，我就使你們得安息。馬太福音 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

患難 Trouble, Suffering

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all. Psalm 34:19

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

• 耶和華本為善，在患難的日子為人的保障，並且認得那些投靠他的人。那鴻書 1:7
The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. Nahum 1:7

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
