【開卷有益】不忙碌的門徒

 

Book忙碌不一定是壞事。忙碌代表有工作可做,對別人、對社會總有點好處。比起無所事事,有意義得多了。


然而,過度忙碌帶來的緊張、壓力、心煩意亂,甚至失去目標和方向,只會讓人一步步走向不健康的生活,結果得不償失。

重松謙(Ken Shigematsu)是加拿大溫哥華第十街教會(Ten Avenue Church)的資深牧師,牧養教會二十多年,人數不斷增加,已擴展了四間分堂,至今仍然繼續在成長中。作為牧者,要處理堂會的事務,並關顧會友的身心靈,所花的時間和心力,實在非常沉重,又怎麼可以不忙碌、輕鬆應對?

多年牧會的經驗,讓他深深體會遵從一套特定的生活規則,能夠幫助自己穿越忙碌的日常工作,仍然可以與上帝緊密地連結在一起。他將他一直以來身體力行的生活規劃寫成《不忙碌的門徒》(God in My Everything)一書,讓讀者也一同來建立自己的生活模式,在二十一世紀繁囂的都市中,依然一派悠然自得、不慌不忙。

或許你不是牧師,也不是商界,但你也感覺自己被工作、學業、家庭、教會或社區活動塞滿了你的時間,令你的精力似乎消耗殆盡。這本書就是為你而寫的。忙碌本質上不是錯事,但繁忙到了極點,把上帝排擠出生命以外,就是問題所在。正如耶穌指出馬大為許多事張羅,至心裡忙亂,而錯過了與耶穌相聚的時間,白白失去了生命中最好的福份。

不少人對修院式的生活既羨慕,卻又感到高不可攀,知道自己永不可能加入修道院,過著寧靜怡人、與世無爭的日子。其實修院的事務繁多,與社會上其他機構不相伯仲。他們沒有與世隔絕,離群索居。許多修道院不僅是禱告與敬拜的地方,更是旅店、緊急避難所、醫院、圖書館、藝術中心和宣教基地。向現實世界展現基督的信仰。

這樣看來,修士的工作量一點也不輕鬆,他們所以選擇進入修院,是因為他們想要以神聖的中心來安排自己的生活。認真的基督徒想必也有相同的渴望,要把生命聚焦於耶穌基督。而修士們所遵循的古老傳統有助他們心無旁騖,有條不紊地專心完成上帝的託付。今天,被繁重工作壓得透不過氣的人們,也可以相繼仿傚,轉化應用,讓生活變得井然有序。

聖經中但以理這個人物是第一個刻意過著規則生活的人。即使被擄到巴比倫,仍然沒有被當地的文化和異教色彩薰陶,他立定心志,一天三次向他所信的上帝跪下禱告,作為他的規律操練,與上帝保持緊密連繫,明白上帝的心意,按照上帝給他的引導,形塑他所作的決定、行動,以及對環境的反應。甚至生命受到威脅之時,仍不為所動,在他的世代裡忠心為上帝而活。

生活有規則的目的不是教人過一個均衡的生活,而是在凡事上以基督為中心,是一種與上帝連結的生命,深深地影響我們生活的每一個環節,無論是與家人之間的關係、同事朋友之間的友誼、公司業務或是教會事奉、個人的身心健康,都調整到適當的位置上。讓我們知道事情的輕重緩急,安排優先次序,知所進退。

在上帝的光照和引導下,生活規則不是要在生命上又附加一些條文,讓人嚴嚴恪守,相反,修院式的生活是要實行捨棄,讓上帝除去日常生活中無關緊要的元素,去蕪存菁,免得我們花了大量的時間和精力去處理一些沒有益處,也沒有價值的事情。

修院式的生活並不是我們想像中的枯燥乏味,反而充滿生命活力,勇於接受無限的挑戰。透過禱告、讀經親近上帝;也透過勞碌工作,經歷上帝的大能和恩慈,天天享受與上帝一起同工的愉悅,再也不會為忙亂的生活而發愁了

喜樂 Joy

謙卑 Humility

敬畏耶和華是智慧的訓誨;尊榮以前,必有謙卑。箴言 15:33
Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD, and humility comes before honor. Proverbs 15:33

敬畏耶和華心存謙卑,就得富有、尊榮、生命為賞賜。箴言 22:4
Humility is the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life. Proverbs 22:4

凡事不可結黨,不可貪圖虛浮的榮耀;只要存心謙卑,各人看別人比自己強。腓立比書 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Philippians 2:3

驕傲 Pride

溫柔 Meekness

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5

嫉妒 Envy

心中安靜是肉體的生命;嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。箴言 14:30
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. Proverbs 14:30

在何處有嫉妒、紛爭,就在何處有擾亂和各樣的壞事。雅各書 3:16
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. James 3:16

生氣 Anger

當止住怒氣,離棄忿怒;不要心懷不平,以致作惡。詩篇 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. Psalm 37:8

好生氣的人,不可與他結交;暴怒的人,不可與他來往。箴言 22:24
Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered. Proverbs 22:24

災難 Calamity

謹守口與舌的、就保守自己免受災難。箴言 21:23
Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity. Proverbs 21:23

民要攻打民、國要攻打國、多處必有地震、饑荒.這都是災難的起頭。馬可福音 13:8
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. Mark 13:8

憂愁 Worry

你們不要憂愁、因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。尼希米記 8:10
Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

主雖使人憂愁, 還要照他諸般的慈愛發憐憫。耶利米哀歌 3:32
Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. Lamentations 3:32

凡勞苦擔重擔的人,可以到我這裡來,我就使你們得安息。馬太福音 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

患難 Trouble, Suffering

義人多有苦難,但耶和華救他脫離這一切。詩篇 34:19
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all. Psalm 34:19

神是我們的避難所,是我們的力量,是我們在患難中隨時的幫助!詩篇 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

耶和華本為善,在患難的日子為人的保障,並且認得那些投靠他的人。那鴻書 1:7
The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. Nahum 1:7
